CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Nellie Cole serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Heather R. Hayes & Associates. Nellie is responsible for the financial stewardship of the company, including financial and operating budgets, financial affairs and reporting, and program management.
Prior to joining Heather R. Hayes & Associates, Nellie served as the Director of Finance and Administration of Integrative Life Center. The company provided intensive outpatient treatment services to individuals dealing with depression, trauma, eating disorders, and substance use disorders.
Nellie served as the Chief Financial Officer of MVI Holdings, Inc. (formerly McKendree Village, Inc.) for two years after the assets of McKendree Village, Inc. were sold. Prior to the sale of its assets, Nellie served as the Chief Financial Officer of McKendree Village Inc., a continuing care retirement community located in Hermitage, Tennessee.
Nellie has over twenty-five years of experience providing accounting and advisory services to public, private, and nonprofit entities in the Nashville area. She was in the assurance services practice of KPMG LLP, an international public accounting firm for twelve years. Nellie provided a variety of professional services including management of financial statements and compliance audits, due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions and assistance in the preparation of initial public offerings, bond offerings, and other SEC filings. She also coordinated the development and delivery of professional education courses for offices throughout the United States related to Higher Education and Nonprofit Organizations, Healthcare and SEC Reporting and Compliance. Prior to accepting the position with McKendree Village, Inc., Nellie was an assurance services partner in a regional public accounting firm.
Nellie is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) where she received Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration Degrees. She has continued to support the educational process by serving as an adjunct faculty member at Tennessee State University and as a member of the MTSU Jones College of Business Advisory Board, Belmont University Accounting Advisory Board and Nashville State Tech Community College Computer Accounting Advisory Board. She has been a member of the Boards of Directors and finance committees of Asbury Place, Faith Family Medical Clinic, Alive Hospice and Leadership Middle Tennessee. She is the current Chair of the Board of Asbury Place.
